How to Warp Text in Adobe Illustrator:

Our Design Tip of the Day shows us how to use envelope distortion to warp text in pretty simple yet wicked ways. Shall we get started?

Step One: Type your desired text in a new AI document, then select Type > Create Outlines (Shift + Control + O)

Step Two: Create a shape using one of the shape tools, the pen tool or a vector. 

Step Three: Drag your text on top of the shape, then select both layers. (Please note that the shape layer is on top. This is key.)

Step Five: Select Object > Envelope Distort > Make with Top Object.

Transform the shape to your liking and have a fantastic day!
